Meet Calvin Willard from Barnet, Vermont. Calvin is a lifetime maple sugar maker, and a maple syrup supplier to Butternut Mountain Farm. He also works in the timber industry as a logger, consulting forester and is a competitor in the professional Timber Sports circuit. Timbersports is a worldwide professional sport consisting of wood chopping and chainsaw racing.
Calvin is headed out to Wisconsin, where he will compete in two upcoming events. The Lumberjack World Championships takes place in Hayward, Wisconsin on July 20 through the 22nd. He will then travel to Milwaukee to compete in the 2017 STIHL Timber Sports Series, which takes place July 28th through the 30th. Each year, the top 20 finalists in the United States compete in the STIHL Timber Sports finals. For the past 6 years, Calvin has qualified and competed in the STIHL Timber Sports finals and presently ranked in the top 10 for the United States. In 2015, Calvin qualified to be a member of the six man US STIHL Timber Sports team and traveled to Poznan, Poland where the team competed in a team relay in front of 10,000 spectators and in the 2016 finals, Calvin won the Hot Saw event.
