In October the Marvin Family was honored to be one of the recipients of the University of Vermont’s Multi-Generational Family Business Award. The award recognizes companies for the financial success of the company, governance structures, contributions to the community and industry, and demonstrated innovative business practices or strategies. At Butternut Mountain Farm there’s a strong connection with people and place – and a real commitment to the long-term sustainability of business, so this award is a particularly meaningful recognition.
In her comments about this year’s awardees Dr. Pramodita Sharma, of the School of Business Administration, noted “Each winner has an inspiring story underscored by sustained business success in highly competitive markets. Good old fashioned hard work and strong community involvement, are smartly combined with innovative approaches to stay at the leading edge of their industries.”
We’re grateful for the recognition from the University and to each of those individuals who have helped shape and grow Butternut Mountain Farm into the company that it is today.
