Enjoy as they are or add a dollop of greek yogurt and a sprinkle of our Vanilla Maple Granola for a complete and wholesome breakfast or snack.
2 farelle or other small pears
1/4 cup grade A dark robust maple syrup
1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1-2 fresh sage leaves
Preheat the oven to 375F. Mix together cider vinegar and maple syrup in a small bowl.
Meanwhile, cut pears in half lengthwise and remove core with a melon baller. Put sage leaves at bottom of a small skillet or baking pan and then place pears cutside up on top of leaves. Dot each pear with a little bit of the butter. Pour the cider vinegar and maple mixture on top.
Place in a preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes. Flip over and bake another 10 minutes, until a knife inserts easily into the pear and the juices have reduced down and are golden and thick like a caramel.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
Serve warm with a good dollop of greek yogurt and a sprinkle of granulated maple sugar or our Vanilla Maple Granola.
