Prep time

Cook time

  • 2 D’Anjou pears, halved and cored
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Dark Robust Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • Salt, to taste
  • Maple granola
  • Yogurt

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Halve the pears and core them with a melon scoop, spoon or tablespoon.
  3. In an oven safe skillet, melt the butter. Stir in the cinnamon and maple syrup until the mixture is combined and heated, about 2 minutes.
  4. Place the pears in the warm syrup and toss so that they’re covered on all sides. Arrange the pears cut side down in the skillet and place in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the pears are soft and lightly browned.
  5. Remove the skillet from the oven and carefully, (it will be hot!) baste the pears with the syrup.
  6. When cooled enough, transfer the pears to a plate. Fill with yogurt and top with maple granola, to taste.

Note: Carefully remove the syrup from the pan into a heat proof bowl or mason jar while the pan is still hot. Otherwise your skillet may need to soak!
