And, So It Begins: Maple Syrup Season 2016

It maybe the earliest boil on record for us – February 6th. With good conditions for sap flows – the sap ran last week Wednesday and Thursday. With a few tweaks to our systems on Friday we boiled on Saturday. We filled four drums and are three quarters full on drum number five.

Getting around in the woods is easier than it has been in past years. Very little snow and warmer than average temperatures has made tapping relatively easy. This year we’ll end up with approximately 17,750 taps.
