The flavors of fall are robust with warm spices. This very easy maple glaze compliments the season’s flavor with the rich notes of maple. Whether you’re whipping up a pumpkin bread, a batch of pumpkin spice cinnamon rolls or any variety of scones, this maple glaze requires little effort, minimal equipment and will add a reliable layer of goodness.

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 – 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons Grade A Dark, Robust maple syrup
  • Touch of salt


  1. Add the powdered sugar to a bowl. There’s no need to sift here. Simply break up clusters with a fork.
  2. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of the milk of your choice. Mix in the maple syrup, stirring with the fork. The glaze will be thick, reminiscent of a frosting. To thin it, add 1/2 tablespoon more of milk or maple syrup. stir in the salt.
  3. Pour over scones, cinnamon rolls, quick breads, or pancakes!
