It’s the season to transform everything into the pumpkin spiced version of itself. Maple sugar and a splash of pure maple syrup make this version of pumpkin spice syrup taste like fall. Add it to your morning coffee, froth into a latte, or pour over morning oats!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup pumpkin purée​
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon​
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom​
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger​
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg​
  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves​
  • 1 cup water​
  • 1/2 cup maple sugar​
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar​
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup​

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a pot over medium heat, stir the pumpkin puree and spices together until combined and toasted, about 1 minute.
  2. Pour in the water and sugars and stir to combine. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to medium-low, keeping the pumpkin syrup at a steady simmer and stirring occasionally until it’s thickened, about 10-15 minutes. Remove the syrup from heat and stir in the maple syrup.
  3. Pour the syrup into a heat safe container and allow to cool before storing in the fridge. It can be used in lattes, morning coffee, or even oatmeal!
