  • 2 farelle or other small pears
  • 1/4 cup grade A Dark Robust Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1-2 fresh sage leaves

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix together apple cider vinegar and maple syrup in a small bowl.
  2. Meanwhile, cut pears in half lengthwise and remove core with a melon baller. Put sage leaves at bottom of a small skillet or baking pan and then place pears cutside up on top of leaves. Dot each pear with a little bit of the butter. Pour the apple cider vinegar and maple mixture on top.
  3. Place in a preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes. Flip over and bake another 10 minutes, until a knife inserts easily into the pear and the juices have reduced down and are golden and thick like a caramel.
  4. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
  5. Serve warm with a good dollop of greek yogurt and a sprinkle of granulated maple sugar or our Vanilla Maple Granola.
